A big little migration...

Virginia Tech has officially announced that they will move their Powermac G5 supercomputer to Xserve G5s. The migration will lower power consumption and heat, as well as lower the overall size of the cluster.

The cost of the move and the fate of the Powermacs are both still generally unknown. According to the folks at Virginia Tech, the "old" machines will go to good homes.

Ready to just be blown away?

In slightly interesting news, AppleInsider has posted a report on two new applications being developed by Panic Software. Stattoo sounds pretty cool.
