60 hours to go...

With the AppleExpo Paris Stevenote less than three days away, more and more evidence supporting a Powerbook release is appearing.

- The latest MacPoll reveals that rumor followers expect new Powerbooks by nearly a 4 to 1 ratio.
- Mac Rumors has also thrown together a rumor round up regarding the Powerbooks.
And,
- Shipping times for all Powerbook models from the Apple Online Store are at 3 to 5 business days, pushing them past the keynote.

But if that's a bit too much stress for you, why don't you check out the latest Joy of Tech.

Absitively posilutely confirmed...

AppleInsider claims that they've "positively confirmed" Apple's plans to announce new 15" Powerbooks, at the least, during AppleExpo Paris.

They go on to claim that Motorola's production problems with the PPC 7457 have finally been resolved, and that the new PB will feature the latest G4s clocking in at 1.25 GHz.

Meanwhile, PowerPage is claiming that Dual G4 Powerbooks are on the way. They're also still claiming that the new 15" machine will have a 15.4" screen, instead of the more likely 15.2" screen.

Anyway, I think AppleInsider could be on to something, but we won't know until next week. I doubt PowerPage is doing anything more than wildly speculating.

Less than a week until the Stevenote...

Watching, waiting, etc...

With the Grand Ol' Stevenote in Paris less than a week away, some interesting debates have started up. We aren't arguing over what Steve will announce, but whether he'll announce anything at all.

Current rumors suggest Apple might not stream the 3 a.m. keynote. But in all fairness, rumors a week before the WWDC keynote suggested the same thing. A not live stream might still be in the works (of course, I'd get up early for a live one, too).

Anyway, there's also some fuel for the good ol' Powerbook rumor fire today. Mac Rumors has noted that the iBook is reaching then end of its product cycle (italics!).

What does that mean for the Powerbooks? Nothing yet, but it seemed moderately interesting (to me, at least).

Announcements ho!

Yes, they've finally announced Powerbooks!
Ha ha ha ha! Just kidding!

Seriously though, today Apple not just announced new iMacs foretold by Mac Rumors, but also the 40 GB iPod - along with a new 20 GB model - "recklessly" predicted by As the Apple Turns.

The iPods also feature a new marketing look. The devices are the same, but the ads feature hip colors. You know what that means...
Apple is finally returning to funky colors! (I'm pre-ordering my Blue Dalmatian iSight right now)

And as if this isn't already enough, Mac Rumors is now predicting an unknown software announcement tomorrow, and another one for next week (Stevenote in Paris) along with an "unexpected" announcement (again, at the Stevenote).

And, as if that wasn't even more than enough as well, Mac Rumors also says that the upcoming software announcements won't be the iTunes Music Store for Windows (there are rumblings indicating a delay at Apple) and also won't be new Powerbooks (but I really hope nobody has confused a Powerbook with a piece of software).

And, as if all of this hasn't already been enough to make you sick, Mac Rumors also says that iCal and iSync are due for updates. These could be part of the mysterious software announcements, or not.

AND, both the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox are in first place, suggesting that anything - no matter how stupid or unlikely - is both rational and likey to happen in the near future. (Cancel that Blue Dalmatian iSight order, I'm gonna get a Flower Power iPhone!)

Let's just hope there's a 2:00 AM live webcast of Steve's AppleExpo keynote (it's not like you need sleep).

Finally! Powerbo-... iMacs?

Mac Rumors is claiming that new iMacs are on their way this week.

And oh, by the way, maybe we'll see some other junk like those Powerwhatevers that a few people have been talking about. Other announcements could arrive this week, or at AppleExpo Paris ("Stevenote in Paris").

Attitude aside, Mac Rumors is one of the most reliable rumor sites. While this new iMacs prediction is sorta surprising, I won't be surprised if Apple announces new iMacs.

But it's not like anyone really wanted those Powermajiggies anyway.
