Colors everywhere?

According to a Mac Rumors Page 2 post, rumors are circulating about a 2 GB Mini-iPod to be announced in January (MWSF). And it would come in colors (a return to funky colors has been quietly speculated since Apple launched the current colorful iPod/iTunes campaign).

While it may not be a particularly reliable rumor, it does fall in line with Steve Jobs's own comments about wanting to produce cheaper iPods (specifically a $99 model). And let's face it, even a $149 or $199 iPod would be a huge thing for Apple, let alone a $99 one.

I've got to admit, I'm perfectly happy with my 5 GB iPod. But a budget-model funky-colored iPod would get me to part with another hundred-or-two bucks.
